Texas Physical Therapy Specialists (TexPTS) is excited to announce the one-year anniversary of the GRAVITY fitness program at the Balcones Woods and Central clinics in Austin, Texas . GRAVITY is small group personal training that provides individual attention at an affordable price. The program is designed to avoid injury and help chronic problems, such as arthritis.
“My passion for fitness and exercise began at a young age and continued through high school when I played varsity soccer,” explains Leeda Rasoulian TexPTS Certified Athletic Trainer ( ATC ) and GRAVITY trainer. “I enjoy motivating and helping others succeed and believe that a workout should not only be beneficial and worthwhile, but fun and enjoyable as well.”
All of the GRAVITY instructors are physical therapy technicians who have received extra training to become certified GRAVITY instructors. Small group personal training allows participants to receive one-on-one time with a certified GRAVITY trainer, while avoiding the high costs of private sessions. Each GRAVITY session lasts 45 minutes, so it can fit into a busy schedule. The workouts build strength, burn fat, and improve flexibility and are modifiable for people of all fitness levels and ages. Patients with chronic problems, such as low back pain, arthritis, and tendonitis, are able to participate in GRAVITY as well.
“The great thing about GRAVITY, is that we can tailor it to the participants,” states Dr. David Browder, PT, DPT, OCS, clinic director and therapist at TexPTS' Balcones Woods location in Austin, Texas. “We are able to work with patients who have finished their physical therapy program, but are not quite ready to head to the gym on their own. At the same time, we can also work with weekend warriors and high school athletes who are looking to effectively increase their stamina and strength.”
“Since the sessions are conducted right in our physical therapy clinic, our physical therapists are able to make sure that all participants are performing the movements safely and effectively,” continues Browder. “Patients no longer need to worry about re-injuring themselves as they work towards improved fitness. We can help them avoid the common pitfalls while we help them improve strength and agility.

Along the way, the TexPTS family has fun and makes friends with their patients (and their pets, their kids, their in-laws, and neighbors….) Perhaps this is why they were voted the Best Private Physical Therapy Practice in the US in 2009 by their peers
It would defy political-science laws akin to gravity. Generally, early polling must show huge support for a ballot measure, or forgetaboutit. But the school district's own survey reveals local voters to be in no mood to increase their school taxes.

So I am starting to feel some pretty positive vibes in place of negative ones thanks to Sparkpeople. I'm having a great summer, but it is also starting to cause me to reevaluate some of the choices I have made in the past and the current state of my life when I am not in summer mode and am back at school. When I am back at my University I can acquire some pretty terrible habits. Last semester, I actually didn't do too bad, and even experienced a weight loss, but that was mainly because I didn't have to time to eat anything but sushi and salads, and signed up for an intense strength training class. Now that I have started to track what I eat, however, I realize that I gain some extreme calories in some ways I never really thought about before, particularly alcohol. I've learned that one margarita is 300-400 calories, and on Panchito's Thursdays when margs are only 2 bucks a pop, I can drink 3 or 4. This means I am drinking a whopping 900-1600 calories in one sitting!!! And I didn't even mention the greasy meal or queso I feel obligated to buy so the waiters don't glare at us for taking a table only to drink. Plus Panchito's Thursdays normally don't end with just Panchito's. Then (not to sound like Rebecca Black) there's Friday and Saturday, in which i will drink similar amounts of calories, while also probably consuming pizza or chinese, and not doing an ounce of physical activity. Considering all this, I feel very lucky that I haven't gained way more weight than I have.
Despite these epiphanies, I still worry that I will slip back into these habits. For about 3 weeks I have been great about watching what I eat and exercising, a feat I haven't accomplished in, well, ever. It would have been 5 weeks, but before that I drove back to my school for a weekend to hang out with friends and it all went to hell. My first stop was happy hour at a local bar, and I was all set to be smart when I ordered a rum and diet coke, but it was a rip-off and envious of the tasty bock beers my friends got for the same price I soon caved with my second drink. From then on I paid no attention, and consumed more calories than I would choose to say. The next day that I had planned to use to go for a walk around an art museum I spent hungover watching tv, except for the times I left to go eat breakfast tacos, chipotle, and whataburger. I ended up consuming more calories in drink form that evening. The next week I did not exercise or track, because I had gotten of schedule.
I just woke up and it seems that the laws of gravity do not apply to my hair.
I defy the laws of gravity.
