My Sister's Antiques

One of the most delightful places I have found is My Sister's Antiques in Loganville. I visit regularly. Our son was at Tae Kwon Do class and my husband and I wandered down to My Sister's Antiques. That was just a nice way to say, I drug Snell down there. I found an old door stop of the "Three Little Kittens" who lost their mittens this time.

One of the neat things is who will be in the store. It seems like I see someone from Snellville every time I go in.  Just the the other day I ran into a bunch of women from Snellville who had been to the Walton EMC meeting.

Angie Webb Preisendanz and her sister, Christy Morris O’Hara have created a wonderful shop. It is beautifully and fancifully decorated. In the window is an old tree branch hung with lights covered with vintage beaded shades. Hanging from the ceiling are stained glass and decorated windows, draped with beautiful old fabrics. I hope the bed with the ingenious canopy is still there when you go. You will get some great decorating ideas for your own home.

The shop is filled with furniture, mirrors, antique toys, linens, quilts, and more. My husband goes through the old car tags and advertizing signs every time we walk in. They have a good size collection of Hull and Roseville pottery, too. I simply cannot list everything.

The fifteen vendors, along with Christy and Angie, have a large variety of merchandise. The vendors are required to have at least 75 percent merchandise qualified as antiques. There is a wide range of collectibles , but this is not a flea market. The shop is neat , well organized and everything is well displayed.

Have you ever wanted your very own mechanical pony? You know, just like the one that was outside the A&P when you were little. They have one! And it is in great shape. If you are looking for vintage kitchen items, including utensils and dishes, you will find it here. They have a real Morris chair in great condition and some unique hand blown glass pieces in one of the jewelry cases.

One of my favorite things is vintage costume jewelry. At any given time, there is an ample selection. One of the vendors has a case of sterling jewelry made from antique silver ware. It contains some of the most beautiful patterns I have seen. I found my grandmother's Mystic pattern from 1905 recreated as earrings and a pendant. I can't tell you how delighted I was. Mama was nearly in tears when I showed her the pieces. She reminisced about so many things her family had before the Great Depression.
